Yachad High School
Model United Nations
in Memory of Gadi Isaacs
October 30, 2024 CONFERENCE
About YachadMUN
This is the ninth year that Yachad's Model UN Club has hosted a conference. Our school prides itself on being the largest school in Israel which integrates Jewish religious and secular students, learning side by side, with a philosophy of tolerance and acceptance. YachadMUN has gained a reputation for being a professional and fun conference, giving opportunities to first-time MUNers as well as returning delegates. We welcome delegates from every corner of the country, from every sector, and from abroad. At Yachad, we do not shy away from addressing difficult, controversial topics. Model United Nations gives us the opportunity to create dialogue in a safe environment and to learn to see issues from others' perspectives.
Opening Ceremony Guest Speaker
Simon Plosker is the Editorial Director of HonestReporting, a media watchdog organization defending Israel from bias in both mainstream and social media. Simon has worked at HonestReporting since 2005 apart from a two-year gap as the Managing Editor of United Nations Watch from 2020-2022. He has previously worked at a variety of non-profit organizations and served for a short period in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. He made Aliyah from the UK in 2001 and lives in Modi'in where his two sons both attend Yachad.
The Yachad MUN Team:
Sassie Yona
Director
Dear honorable delegates, chairs, advisors, and esteemed guests,
It is with deep honor and pride that I welcome you to Yachad MUN IX, Yachad Modiin High School’s ninth annual Model United Nations conference. What you see and experience at Yachad MUN will be the culmination of endless hours of hard work by everyone involved, including every one of you. For many of you, this is your first Model United Nations conference. The secretariat team has labored and prepared in order to make this an exceptionally positive experience, putting thought into every detail.
I sincerely hope that each delegate participating in the conference will learn a great deal about MUN, meet new friends, have fun, and decide to participate in more conferences in the future. You will be called upon to research, make speeches, listen to others, think on your feet, debate, persuade, draft resolutions, and vote. In addition, participating in MUN teaches you to see issues from another’s point of view and to do things that may be outside of your comfort zone. The skills you acquire here will serve you every day of your life. Do your best to represent your assigned country according to its interests and agenda, but remember there are no real right or wrong answers. Be creative.
As director of Yachad MUN IX, I wish you all a fun and fruitful conference. Hopefully, we will succeed in passing some resolutions!
Sincerely Yours,
Sassie Yona
Ari Plosker
Secretary-General
Dear delegates,
My name is Ari Plosker, and I am truly honored to serve as your Secretary-General for this exciting conference.
I am currently in 12th grade. Over the years, I've had the privilege of participating in many conferences, national and international, so many of which I have chaired.
Beyond MUN, I play ice hockey and tennis, lift weights in the gym every day, and in addition, I enjoy photography. I am also a very loyal supporter of BarnetFC and the McLaren F1 Team and love watching the games with my dad.
I'm looking forward to seeing each and every one of you at YachadMUN and giving you the best experience I possibly can as your Secretary-General.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas leading up to the conference. Let's make YachadMUN an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Yuval Kaplan
Secretary-General
Hello everyone and welcome to YachadMUN IX!
My name is Yuval Kaplan, and I am most excited to be one of your Secretaries-General at this conference.
I've been doing MUN for the past 2 years, and it changed my life. MUN is an experience where you can learn and expand your knowledge of the world, meet new people, and make new friends along the way. The life experience and the capabilities you can learn from it are invaluable.
It might be obvious to advanced delegates and chairs, but for those of you who are just beginning their MUN journey, let me just remind you, we have all been there. So remember, even when it's difficult - don't give up. It will pay off.
I wish you all the best,
And of course, Good Luck & have fun!
